The Music Place runs various bands and choirs. Some of these groups are weekly classes, others are put together twice a year for our two Music Place concerts.

These bands provides the opportunity for students to learn about the arrangement and performance of this type of music.

They involve playing as a group, trying a variety of styles and playing arrangements of well-known songs. The line-up is usually drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, singers.

These bands are a similar set up to the rock and pop bands but play jazz music and include improvisation. They have a slightly different line-up of instruments: drums, bass, keyboard, guitar, saxophones, trumpets, clarinets, flutes.

The aim of the group is to bring together like-minded musicians to perform a wide variety of arrangements.

Fun choir for adults. Takes place at The Cinnamon Club on Wednesday afternoons, 1.30 - 3.00pm (with a break for tea and cake). £8. For more information, contact us on 0161 928 3337.

This group is made up of singing students who have reached
an advanced level. They sing arrangements of their favourite songs, the focus being on group harmony.

The Gospel Choir is made up of our many singing students. It aims to enhance the skills learnt in singing lessons as well as introduce students to harmony and performance techniques.

These groups are put together each year for our summer concert. They play a wide range of tunes arranged for their instruments. The groups give the students experience of playing with other people as well as the chance to perform in front of a large audience.
