JAZZ WEEKEND

WHY ARE WE HERE?
(When we should be there!)

gui

Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd December 2006

  • Jazz Summer School Students rehearsing, 2005WHERE ARE WE? (not in the universe, in the song)
  • WHERE'S THE TOP? (not of Everest, of the song)
  • IS IT THE FIRST A OR THE LAST A? (not in Alaska, in the song)
  • HOW MANY BARS ARE THERE? (not in Benidorm, in the song)

Spend the weekend strengthening your understanding of standard song forms. Learn to know where you are and feel the changes and length of the sequence. When you relax within the form, you can express yourself much more freely and so feel a connection with the music.

The course will be taking place at The Cinnamon Club, The Firs, Bowdon.
