Johnny Heyes
Guitar Teacher
Johnny is a graduate of the City of Leeds College of Music where he gained a BA Hons in Jazz Studies. He studied guitar with Mike Walker and during his time there was awarded the Eric Kershaw prize for plectrum guitar.
Johnny is a member of "Badbone & Co." lead by trombonist, Dennis Rollins. In 2006 the band won the BBC Jazz Award for Best Band and they continue to tour internationally.
As a freelance session musician, Johnny has performed with many artists including Mica Paris, Errol Brown, Danni Minogue, Snake Davis and Tony Christie.
Johnny also has a wealth of experience as an educator, teaching regularly at the RNCM where he is one of the founders of the Session Musician course. He has also delivered masterclasses and workshops at Salford University, The Sage in Gateshead and LIPA.
