Steve Gilbert
Drum / Percussion Teacher
A native of Manchester, Steve has been a professional musician all his working life. Steve was active as a sesson musician during the 80s and 90s. Whilst working in radio and television under the direction of such luminaries as Derek Hilton, Brian Fitzgerald, Ritchie Close, Bill Connors, Colin Campbell and others, he had the good fortune to record or broadcast with a wide range of artists including:
Les Dawson, Kiki Dee, Madeleine Bell, Lisa Stansfield, Martin Taylor, Brian Lemon, Slim Galliard, James Galway and many others.
He has also accompanied many leading jazz artists from both home and abroad including:
Art Farmer, Bobby Shew, Jim Mullen, Alan Skidmore, Bobby Wellins, Chris "Snake" Davies.
