Following the success of last year’s musical extravaganza, Harfest, this September, it’s returning to Altrincham… and it’s bigger and more Music Place-y than ever! Yes, there will be fun, there will be food and most importantly, there will be music!
Harfest will take place across the weekend of 22nd/23rd September. Alongside some incredible acts such as Gideon Conn, LYZA, Ruff Trade and Little Belters, the Harfest stages will be littered with Music Place faces.
Kicking off the festivities on Friday 21st September, Frisco Crabbe and The Atlantic Frantics, lead by drum teacher, John Dagnall, take to The Cinnamon Club stage for a night of funk and soul! At 12pm on Saturday, we welcome the return of the Singalonga Disney, lead by the wonderful Clare Morel and Richard Wetherall. This is not to be missed. Following the Singalonga Disney, we’ve got consecutive Music Place coming at you! We’re really excited for our choir to take to the main stage at 4:15pm with their ‘Manchester Anthems’ set, including as many Manchester hits as can be squeezed into half an hour. In keeping with the theme of Manchester musical legends, singing teacher, Charlie Cooper hits the main stage at 5:30pm! Following this, guitar teacher, Kirk McElhinney wows the crowds followed by Music Place desk person, Harriet Dagnall, on Shaw’s road!
A busy day indeed, but the fun doesn’t stop there. At 11am on Sunday, our Music Place bands take to the stage for one song each, followed by the musical stylings of bass teacher, Huw Jacob who will be joined by his band. At 3pm, the main stage welcomes lovely Music Place piano teacher, Caoilfhionn Rose for some ambient Sunday afternoon vibes. Finally, Cabbage Alley round off the afternoon, featuring Music Place friend and woodwind teacher, Andy Morel.
Harfest is set to be a real treat this year, and we’re really looking forward to seeing so many of our Music Place staff doing what they do best. Don’t miss it people! 22nd and 23rd September!
Have a lovely summer everyone!
