The end of the academic year often means saying a fond farewell to our year 13 students as they head off to uni! 🥹 Freya started her musical journey with us 8 years ago and it's been just lovely to watch her grow into such a brilliant musician! We chatted to Freya about her time at The Music Place. We'll miss you and all of our leavers! 💜

Please tell us a bit about yourself

I’ve been at the music place since I was 10 so 8 years now and i started with singing lessons but also had piano lessons there and have been in two bands at the music place.

How long have you been learning at the Music place?

I’ve had a number of teachers at the music place over the years and each one has taught me different things about music that will stick with me.

What have you enjoyed about taking part in music?

I’ve loved having the opportunity to play and collaborate with other people in the bands and also getting to talk and learn about different aspects of music and their impact on people in my lessons.

What have been your musical highlights?

I’d say my musical highlights have been playing at the alti festival last year but also every lesson and rehearsal, getting to make friends and learn about new music that I never would have known about otherwise.

Anything else to share?

I owe so much of my passion for music to the music place and without them I would not be pursuing songwriting so I’m forever grateful for all their support over the years!
